Barisal Fisheries Department in cooperation with Coast Guards in a drive at Kritankhola river seized 40 maunds jatka from four trawlers here this morning.
The drive was conducted between 2 am (last night)and 6 am this morning on the basis of secret information and seized 40 maunds jatka from 4 abandoned trawlers.
Fisheries department sources said none was arrested in this connection.
District fisheries official Wahaduzzaman told journalists that the seized hilsa were distributed among the 22 local madrasa and 250 destitues families. -BSS, Barisal
Rajshahi Education Board accords reception to 42 institutions
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Rajshahi has accorded reception to 42 educational institutions as recognition of their outstanding results in HSC and SSC examination in 2013.
The board authority organised a ceremony at its conference hall on the occasion Friday.
Board Chairman Prof Tanbirul Alam, former chairman Prof Nural Alam, Secretary Prof Abdur Rouf Mian, Controller of Examinations Prof SMA Huraiyra and College Inspector Dr Anarul Haque Pramanik spoke on the occasion, among others.
Prof Tanbirul Alam said the reception will inspire other institutions to attain brilliant results. Besides, a competition for good results among the schools and colleges will be created.
