5 girls back home serving 2 years in Indian jail

Five teenage girls returned home on Friday after serving two years in Indian jail.   Border Security Force (BSF) of Indian handed them over to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) through Benapole check post at noon.   The returnees are Rupa Khatun, 17, Mita Akhtar, 19, Nargis Begum, 18, Arati Rani, 19, and Rozina Khatun, 19. They hail from Khulna and Gaibandha districts.   Commanding officer of Benapole check post camp under BGB Battalion-26 Abdul Mannan said human traffickers sent the gullible Bangladeshi girls to India two years back promising them good jobs there.   However, Kolkata police arrested them and later they were sent to jail by a court.   Volunteer organisation of Kolkata ‘Rescue Foundation’ managed the release of the Bangladeshi girls and took them under its custody.   And finally, they returned home on Friday. -UNB
