5 JMB suspects held in M’singh, one in Jessore

Police in separate drives arrested five suspected activists of the banned Islamic militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Fulbaria upazila on Monday.
The arrestees were identified as Abdul Barek Munshi Bari, 45, teacher of Jorbaria Balika Dakhil Madrasah, Touhiduzzamn Abu, 27, son of Nur Ahmmad Chowdhury, resident of Radhakanai village, Abdul Hannan, 26, son of Shahabuddin, resident of Echail Khamar Char village, Mohammad Tuel, son of Abdul Kashem of Tukkir Par village, and Tazamul Haque, 45, son of Hafez Ali of the Chak Radhakanai village of the upazila.Police conducted special drives in different area of the upazila and arrested them, said Rifat Khan, officer-in-charge of the police station.
They had been taken to Fulbaria police station for interrogation.
In another raid police arrested a suspected militant from in front of Jessore Medical College Hospital in Jessore district town on Monday night.
The arrestee was identified as Abu Sayeed Bipul, son of late Abu Zafar of Ghop area of the district town.
Police said on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a raid at Bipul’s medicine shop ‘Bipul Drug House’ in the area and arrested Bipul at about 10:00 pm.
Police also recovered some anti-government leaflets from the shop. The arrestee was wanted in several cases, said police. – – UNB
