6th year of BDR carnage Wednesday

The nation will remember the carnage at BDR headquarters at Pilkhana in the capital where 74 people, including 57 army officers, were killed in 2009.
Relatives of the martyrs, government high-ups, and Border Guard Bangladesh and army officials will pay homage to the martyrs by placing wreaths at their graves at Banani Graveyard in the city.
Representatives of President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, State Minister for Home, the chiefs of the three services, senior secretary to the Home Ministry and the BGB Director General will place wreaths at the graves at 9am.Special prayers will be offered for salvation of the departed souls in mosques in all regions, sectors, institutions and units of BGB and at its BOPs on the day.
Different socio-political organisations will hold various programmes, marking the 6th anniversary of the Pilkhana tragedy.
A BNP delegation will pay homage to the martyred BDR men at their graves at the Banani Graveyard around 11am, BNP chairperson’s media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan told journalists on Tuesday.
Besides, a doa and milad mahfil will be held at Fazlur Rahman Khandaker Auditorium at Pilkhana BGB headquarters at 4:30 pm on Thursday.
