The 72nd birth anniversary of Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina’s husband and renowned nuclear scientist Dr M A Wajed Miah (Sudha Miah) will be
observed here through two-day elaborate programmes on February 15 and 16 next.
Dr Wajed Smriti Sangshad (DWSS) has finalised the two-day programmes to observe the birth anniversary of Dr M A Wajed Miah in a befitting manner, General Secretary of DWSS and senior journalist Saiful Islam Jahangir told BSS Wednesday.The programmes were finalised at a recent meeting held at Raja ream Mohan Club auditorium here last night with valiant Freedom Fighter, Dr Wajed’s boyhood friend and President of the DWSS Advocate Abdul Gani in the chair, he said.Vice-presidents of DWSS Monwar Hossain and AKM Mozammel Haque, its General Secretary Saiful Islam Jahangir, Law Affairs Secretary Advocate Rothish Chandra Bhowmick Babu Sona, Office Spectrometry Lecturer Elahi Farooque, Women Affairs Secretary Tahmina Shirin,
Lecturer Abu Taher Mandal, Abul Kashem and Kamrul Hassan Chaudhury attended the meeting.The programmes include drawing and hand writing competitions, patriotic song competitions fore children and poem recitation competition will be held at Zila Parishad premises on February 15. In the morning on February 16, leaders of the DWSS leaders will place floral wreaths at the grave of Dr Wajed Miah, arrange Ziarat and offer Fateha in his birthplace village of Fotehpur under Pirganj upazila in the district at 9 am.A discussion meeting on the life and deeds of the renowned nuclear
scientist Dr Wajed will be arranged at Zila parishad auditorium in the city at 6 pm on February 16 and prizes, crests and certificates will be distributed among winners of different competitions.Childhood companion of Dr Wajed and President of DWSS Advocate Abdul Gani will preside over the discussion.Vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University Professor Dr AKM Nurun Nabi, Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Dilwar Bakht, Additional
