A Dhaka court on Sunday placed nine members of the Islamist outfit ‘Ansarulla Bangla Team’ on a five-day remand each in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorist Act.
Magistrate Shariar Mahmud Adnan of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the remand order after hearing on a 10-day remand prayer.
The accused are Kazi Rezuan Sharif, Naimul Hasan, Saiful Islam, Abu Hanif, Aminul Islam, Jahidur Rahman, Ali Azad, Asadullah and Zunun Sukdar Investigation Officer (IO) of the case Inspector Sabbir Ahmed produced the accused before the court with the remand plea.
The Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested with laptop, jihadi books and leaflets in separate drives in the city on Saturday and early Saturday.
Earlier law enforcers arrested 31 Ansarulla Bangla Team members with its chief Jasim Uddin Rahmani on August 12. Jasim was arrested from Barguna district.
Of the arrestees, Kazi Rezwan is a student of a madrasa while others are employees of some private firms, the police source said. – Court Correspondent
