‘Arrest price hike of essentials’

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Wednesday asked the deputy commissioners to ensure so that the prices of various products remain within people’s purchasing capacity.

He gave the directives while speaking at the 2nd working session of the 2nd day of the three-day Deputy Commissioners’ conference.

Tofail also directed the DCs to keep the political and law-and-order situation stable across the country.

He said the government has set a target to reach the country’s export volume to US$ 60 billion by 2021.

Mentioning that the government has identified some 14 products under ‘one district one product (ODOP)’ scheme for export, the minister asked the DCs to carry out publicity of the products.
