BD-Singapore for deepening bilateral relations

Bangladesh and Singapore has agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the mutually beneficial fields of cooperation.Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni MP and her counterpart K Shanmugam discussed wide range of bilateral issues while meeting in Singapore on May 31.
Both the Ministers expressed satisfaction on the existing excellent bilateral relations and emphasized on exploring new avenues of cooperation.
Dr Dipu Moni requested Singapore to import more Bangladeshi products with a view to reducing the trade gap, which is largely in favour of Singapore.
She has also requested to employ more Bangladeshi skilled and semi-skilled professionals especially in the manufacturing and service sectors in Singapore.
Terming Bangladesh as one of the most attractive destinations for Foreign Direct Investment, Dr. Dipu Moni urged the Singapore investors to come forward take the advantage and invest more in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh Foreign Minister is currently visiting Singapore to attend the 12th IISS Asia Security Summit, known as Shangri-La Dialogue.
She is also expected to meet EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Catherine Ashton in the side line of Shangri La Dialogue.
Bangladesh High Commissioner Mahbubuzzaman, Additional Secretary of the Foreign Ministry Jishnu Roy Chowdhury and Director General (South East Asia) Golam Sarwar were also present during the meeting with Singapore Foreign Minister. (Banglanews24.com)
