BGB rescues 19 Bangladeshis from traffickers in Jessore

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) rescued 19 people from Putkhali border in Sharsha upazila on Thursday night while being trafficked to India.Habildar Shishir Kumar of BGB battalion-23 said that acting on a tip off that some Bangladeshis were being sent to India through the Putkhali border, a BGB team conducted a drive in the area and rescued 13 men, five women and a child.
The human traffickers, however, fled the scene sensing the presence of the border force, said Shishir Kumar who led the BGB team.
Later, the rescued people were handed over to Benapole Port Police Station. – UNB
