BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was set to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital for treatment from Kashimpur jail on Tuesday morning.
Basanta Kumar, senior jail super of Kashimpur jail, said they sent Fakhrul to the hospital as part of his regular check-up.
The BNP leader has been suffering from for various health complexities, including hypertension and heart disease, for a long time, he added.
If physicians do not prescribe him to be admitted, Fakhrul will be sent back to jail, Basanta Kumar said. – UNB
