Dhaka – A businessman sustained bullet injuries as miscreants sprayed bullets targeting him in the city’s Eskaton Road on Monday.Police quoting witnesses said Anwar Hossain, 55, general secretary of Bangladesh Medical Device Association, came out from his Eskaton residence in the morning and he was going to his Nurjahan Tower office of Bangla Motor by a private car.
Suddenly miscreants, numbering 3-4, tried to swooped on his private car at around 8:45 am. They sprayed bullets targeting him and fled the scene. One of the bullet hit under his right chest after breaking the windowpane of the private car.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. His condition is stated to be critical, DMCH sources said.
Maruf Hossain Sarder, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Ramna Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, told reporters that police has been investigating into the incident.
Replying to a question, he said primarily it seems to them that it was not incidence of mugging as the perpetrators did not try to take away any valuable from him. However, the DC Ramna said, fact wil be revealed after investigation. – News Desk
