Three people were killed and 20 others injured in a clash between activists of Awami League and Jamaat-e-Islam in Khonchpara under Shibganj Upazila of the district on Sunday afternoon.The deceased were identified as Nasir Uddin, 40, an Awami League activist, Nurshed, 42, son of Bahar of Umarpur village andJamaat activists, and Maolana Bashir Ahmed, 50, a Jamaat activist.
Sources said a clash over establishing political supremacy erupted in the area, leaving three people of both sides killed and 20 others injured.
During the clash, few houses were vandalized and, one house and 10 motorcycles were torched.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), police and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. banglanews24.com
