Dhaka, Mar 31 (UNB) – A court here on Sunday placed Faruk Hossain, land owner and Tasvir Ul Islam , owner of the extended portion of FR Tower, on a seven-day remand each, in connection with a case filed over the deadly fire incident at Banani.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shatbir Ahsan Yeasir Chowdhury passed the order when DB inspector Mohammad Jalal Uddin produced them before the court seeking a 10-day remand for each for them.
Advocate Tuhin Hawladar stood for the two land owners.
Earlier in the day, a team of DB police arrested Engineer Faruk Hossain from Bashundhara residential area around 1:30 am on Sunday.
Besides, detectives arrested Tasvir, who owned the extended portion of FR Tower, from his Baridhara residence on Saturday night.
Sub-Inspector Milton Dutta of Banani Police Station filed a case accusing land owner Faruk, Rupayan Group Chairman Liaquat Ali Khan Mukul, Kurigram district BNP president Tasvir Ul Islam, also Quasem Drycell Limited Managing Director, FR Tower management committee members and several others.
