Election Commissioner Md Shah Nawaz on Sunday said the Election Commission is ready to hold the next parliamentary polls under any type of interim government.“It is politicians who will decide the nature the election-time government. The Election Commission is ready to arrange the national election under any type of government the politicians will define,” he told a group of reporters at his EC secretariat office.
The election is scheduled to be held by January. The EC has completed all necessary preparations for the election except the procurement of polls instruments, Shah Nawaz said.
With the rise of population, the Commissioner said, the number of the country’s voters has marked a rise. Nearly new 7,000 polling stations would be set up during the 10th parliamentary elections. There will be maximum 30,00 voters under each poling centre, he added. (Source: UNB)
