Faruk Khan for on-arrival visa facility in China

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Faruk Khan on Tuesday demanded ‘on-arrival’ visa for Bangladeshis in China for making business ties and people-to-people contacts between the two countries stronger.“We’ve been providing on-arrival visa for Chinese here. The same way, Bangladesh also expects on-arrival visa from China,” he said.
The minister made the demand at a seminar on tourism promotion held at a city hotel.
Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation and Tourism Administration of China jointly arranged the seminar.
Speaking as the chief guest, Faruk Khan said Bangladesh provides on-arrival visa facility to the people of over 50 countries, and it expects similar feedbacks from those countries.
He said Bangladesh and China are working together on tourism, trade and commerce and investment, and sought joint efforts to strengthen the existing ties.
Faruk Khan also said the government has taken steps to turn Cox’s Bazar airport into an international one. “An agreement has been signed with a Chinese company in this regard. Works on it will start soon.”
He sought Chinese support and investment in road, railway, and tourism sectors. (Source: UNB)
