Police in separate drives early Tuesday arrested five people from different places of
Muradnagar upazila in connection with the Bashir killing case.
The arrestees—Helal, Sharif, Sattar, Sabuj and Kaium—hail from different villages of the
upazila.
Police said a team of police conducted separate drives in their houses at late night on
Tuesday and arrested them.
Police and witnesses said Bashir Ullah, 18, son of Babul Mia of Raitala village, went
missing on way to a local market on Friday evening and had not returned since then.
The victim’s father Babul filed a general diary (GD) with Muradnagar Police Station.
Later, police, receiving information by local people, recovered the body of Bashir from a
paddy field on Monday noon.
The victim’s elder sister Aklima Akhter filed a case against four named and five to six
unnamed people with the same police station.
Sub-inspector Kamal Uddin of the police station, also investigation officer of the case,
said the arrestees were being interrogated. -UNB, Comilla
