Ruling Awami League (AL) Advisory Council Member, also Mercantile Bank Chairman, Abdul Jalil breathed his last at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore on Wednesday evening. He was 74.
Family sources said he was suffering from different diseases including kidney, diabetic and heart diseases.
Jalil was kept on life support in the hospital from Tuesday night, they added.
Earlier on Monday night, he went through a bypass operation.
Abdul Jalil was admitted to the hospital after he had suddenly fallen sick on February 25.
