Former Eden College teacher, accused on fresh remand

Dhaka-The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Tuesday placed office assistant Selim Mia on a three-day fresh remand in connection with the killing of a former Vice Principal of Eden Women’s College. Magistrate Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury granted the remand after hearing. Bhasantek Police Station SI Asif Iqbal produced Selim to the court with a 5-day remand plea on completion of the 5-day remand that was granted on October 12. Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three people from Mirpur area of the city in connection with the murder of former Vice Principal Professor Ali Hossain Malek (70) of Eden Women’s College.. A team of RAB-4 arrested them from Kazipara in Mirpur and also recovered looted money from them, said RAB sources. Earlier on 11 October, Ali Hossain Malek, a retired professor of the college, was found death with stab injuries in a house at Road No. 2 of Banani DOHS.-Special Correspondent
