Govt fails to protect people: Khaleda

DHAKA: Opposition BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Thursday expressed her deep condolence and grief at the deaths in a devastating fire at garments in the capital.The former prime minister came up with the sympathy in a condolence message to bereaved family on Thursday evening.
In her condolence message, she alleged that government failed to protect people’s security in their workplace. As a result, many accidents took place in many places in the country like Savar Rana Plaza.
At least eight people, including a DIG of police & its managing director were killed in a devastating fire at a sweater factory in capital’s Mirpur on Wednesday night.
Of the deceased, four were identified as managing director Mahabubur Rahman, DIG Monjur Morshed, Comilla distrct Juba League president Sohel Mostofa Sapan and Emadur Rahman Badal.
