Gazipur -A grocery shop owner was hacked to death by miscreants at Khalpara village in Kaliganj upazila on Saturday evening.The deceased was identified as Sharif Hossain.Sub-inspector Farid Udddin Ahmed of Kaliganj police station said a group of miscreants attacked Sharif and beat him indiscriminately while he was returning from the neighbouring village in the evening, leaving him dead on the spot.On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy on Sunday morning.A case was filed against a local named Jakaria, with whom Sharif had an enmity, said police.
