Hasina to head interim govt: Hasan

Environment Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Thursday said the next general election will be held under an interim government to be headed by Sheikh Hasina.“The polls will be held under an interim government…discussions might be held on how to hold a fair and free election under the interim government,” he said.
The minister was addressing an anti-hartal rally organised by Thikana 71 in front of the Jatiya Press Club.
Hasan Mahmud, also the publicity and publication affairs secretary of the ruling Awami League, observed that the leader of the opposition has got frustrated as her 48-hour ultimatum has turned futile.
“The opposition leader introduced herself as a terrorist leader with her call to party men to stand beside Hefajat men. She expressed his political bankruptcy by telling her party men to stand beside the terrorists at a time when Jamaat and Hefajat carried out destructive activities in Dhaka city,” he said.
Krishak League vice-president MA Karim, among others, addressed the rally held with Thikana 71 president Fazlul Haque in the chair. UNB
