Third Barisal City Corporation Election 2013 campaign speeded up on Friday, 15-day before the election date of June 15 as weather condition improved after seven days.
On other hand Hefajat e-Islam declared support to 18-party alliance backed BCC Mayor Candidate.Most of the candidates Friday performed Juma prayer in mosques of election campaign areas and leaflets of candidates distributed before and after the prayer.
Ahsan Habib Kamal, 18-party alliance backed Jatiyatabadi Nagorik Parishad nominated Mayor Candidate and his chief election coordinator city BNP president lawmaker Mojibor Rahman Sarwar performed Juma prayer at Mahmudia Madrasa, one of the largest Qoumi Madrasa in the region and center of the Hefajat E Islam of the city.
The 18-party alliance leaders then held a meeting with the Hefajat leaders at the madrasa.
After that Hefajat leaders jointly raising hands announced their formal support to 18-party alliance Mayor Candidate Kamal in front of their activists.
Shawkat Hossain Hiron, outgoing Mayor, city AL president and 14-party alliance backed Sammilito Nagorik Committee nominated Mayor Candidate, performing Juma prayer at Gas turbine power house Mosque campaigned in ward-4-8, 24-25, at Amanatganj, Sagordi, Rupatali areas.
On other hand Mahmudul Houqe Khan Mamun, Jubo League leader and Mayor Candidate performing Juma prayer at West Bogura Road and campaigned for vote at ward 1-3, 17-20 wards at Kawnia, Bogura Road, Sadar Road, Fakirbari, Kalibari areas.
