Housewife stabbed by youth dies at SOMCH

A housewife who was critically injured on Sunday in an attack by a youth for refusing his marriage proposal two years back died at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital (SOMCH) early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Sakera Begum, 22, wife Ayub Ali, a resident of Lamasatain village of Gowainghat upazila.Police said Kamal Uddin, son of Sakera’s neighbour Jamaluddin, stabbed Sakera indiscriminately while she was going to the pond nearher house to take a bath on Sunday noon, leaving her critically injured.Later, Sakera was rushed to SOMCH where she succumbed to her injuries around 4 am on Monday.Police said Kamal proposed Sakera’s family to marry her two years back. But Sakera’s family refused the proposal and Kamal went abroad after that.Returning home, Kamal found out that Shakera was married off to another man and attacked her in desperation. -UNB, Sylhet
