A human chain was formed at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) campus demanding to start Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) technical cadre for the agricultural and food engineers yesterday.
About 400 students of the Agricultural Engineering and technology faculty of the university gathered in front of the Shilpacharya Joynul Abedin auditorium at 12:00 pm and formed the human chain.
Speakers at the human chain said, Agricultural & food engineers invented different technology and machinery to develop the agriculture sector. But inexperienced people work there as an extension workers as a result the farmers were deprived of uses of the proper technology.
To get up to the mark extension services to the farmers in agricultural field level, agricultural & food engineers should be employed as a BCS technical cadre, the speakers also added. – BAU Correspondent
