Panic gripped Hindu community when miscreants attacked Pachuria, Hatbaria, Kanutia and Binupur villages under Mohammadpur Upazila of the district and vandalized 15 idols in Hindu temples Tuesday early morning.
Police and locals said more than 15 idols of different temples of the villages were damaged by miscreants. General Secretary of Mohammadpur upazila Puja Udjapan Committee Kanu Tawori told the journalists that the unknown miscreants damaged the idols in different temples Tuesday early morning creating panic among the Hindu dominated villages. He demanded arrest of the miscreants and exemplary punishment for them immediately.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Mohammadpur thana Monirul Islam told the journalists that a campaign was launched to arrest the criminals who were involved in vandalizing the Hindu Idols. –BSS, Magura
