Iran condemns recent attacks in Bangladesh

Strongly condemning the recent terrorist attacks on religious congregations in Bangladesh, Iran on Sunday said there is no doubt that the attackers are intending to disrupt the peace and harmony between the people of different religions and sects in this country.“There’s no doubt that the ones responsible for all this are intending to disrupt the peace and harmony between the people of different religions and sects in this country,” the Iranian Embassy in Dhaka said in a statement. The country hoped that Bangladesh will be successful in rooting out those responsible for these crimes and bring them to justice.“We’ve witnessed that the latest attacks were carried on religious congregations. One occurred at Husseini Dalan, and the other on a mosque in Bogra which happened on November 26,” the statement added. It said Iran believes that no Muslim can be responsible for such a heinous and ruthless act.“The Holy Quran clearly states in Sura Maida that ‘If anyone slew a person – unless it is for murder or for spreading mischief in the land – it would be as if he slew all of mankind’.”Iran offered deepest condolences to the government of Bangladesh and families of the deceased, and prayed for the injured for their early recovery.
