JCD activists injured in BCL attack

Three activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) were injured in an attack allegedly by activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at
Kamolganj Degree College in Kamolganaj upazila on Saturday. Witnesses said JCD leader Jobair Ahmed Iran was staying in a room on the 2nd floor of the college at about 11am when a group of BCL activists went there and hit him with sharp weapons, leaving him injured. Two other JCD leaders, Russel Noor and Rubel Hasan, also came under attack as they went to save Iran.Police later quelled the situation.

One of the injured, Iran, was admitted to Mpulvibazar Sadar Hospital. Kamolganj upazila BCL president Sanwar Hossain denied the allegation, saying that the JCD workers swooped on the BCL workers who later resisted
them.
In Bagerhat on the other hand at least 20 persons including women were injured when an armed clash took place between the two rival groups of Jubo Dal following the affixing of  posters  to something on the occasion of the observance of 32nd death anniversary of late President Ziaur Rahman in Bagerhat. In this connection Chatra Dal leader Rana Tarafdar lodged a case with the local Police Station against 16 persons on Saturday as a plaintiff. Ten out of 20 injured persons were admitted to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital and various clinics for their treatment. They are Motaleb (35), Rana Tarafdar (20), Sohel Tarafdar (28), Nilu Khan (35), Arif Gazi (25), Babu Khan (17), Murad (28), Hafizur (27), Manjur (20) and Mayeen  (5).
It is learnt from the eye witnesses that on Friday at 3 pm some local workers of Jubo Dal were attaching some poster of  Ziaur Rahman to the shop of Jubo Dal leader Rana  Tarafdar near a mosque in the village Dema under Bagerhat Sadar Upazila an altercation took place between Nawsher,  Murad, Hafizul and Mahfuzur of Jubo Dal. Following this altercation a clash took place between Mosaddek Hossain Dollar, Joint Secretary of district Jubo Dal and his associates and Sajib Tarafdar a UP member and local Jubo Dal and his associates on the same day at 4 pm  About 100 people took part in the clash and at least 20 persons of both the groups were injured, 10 seriously.
It is learnt from the police that a rivalry has been prevailing been the 2  groups  of local  Jubo Dal over the expansion of supremacy on
each other.
