Students of Jagannath University confined their vice chancellor (VC) Dr Mizanur Rahman at his office for 20 minutes over 4-point demand at around 11.15 Monday.The 4-point of students includes building Banibhaban hall, building high rise hall on the Malitola’s fallow land, shifting the branch of Bangladesh Bank, increasing transportation facilities and to free halls from illegal possession.
Additional law enforcers have been deployed on the campus to thwart any untoward situation.
Coordinator of the movement SM Nazmul Hasan told banglanews that the agitation will continue till the authority does not take any action to meet the demand.
We will go for harder movement if necessary, he added.
Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr Mizanur Rahman told banglanews that it became impossible to construct new hall due to insufficiency of land.
