Parliament on Sunday unanimously adopted a thanksgiving motion on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s receiving the South-South Cooperation Visionary Award of the United Nations.
Ruling Awami League MP Barrister Fazle Noor Taposh placed the motion and initiated discussions on it.MPs across the board joined the discussions and praised the Prime Minister for her firm leadership to graduate Bangladesh to a middle-income country.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Awami League MPs Abdul Matin Khasru, Tarana Halim, Pankaj Debnath, Faruk Khan and Hasan Mahmud, Jatiya Party MPs Tajul Islam Chowdhury, Ruhul Amin Hawlder and Kazi Firoz Rashid, among others, participated in the discussions.
Following the adoption of the motion, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina devoted the award to the people, saying they deserve it. – UNB
