JS body for stringent law to prevent cyber crimes

A parliamentary watchdog on Sunday recommended the concerned ministry to enact stringent law to prevent cyber crimes in the country.The recommendation was made at a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry on Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
The meeting held at Sangsad Bhaban with its chairman Md Abdul Wadud in the chair discussed cyber crimes issues and their remedies.
It suggested the ICT ministry to launch massive campaign in the mass media on government policy on ICT, measures taken by the government and successes of the ministry.
The meeting emphasised the need for upgrading the rules and regulations of Bangladesh Computer Council and posting efficient person to deal with the BCC.
The meeting also recommended the ministry to take measures to inaugurate Rajshahi Hitech Park by September next.
Committee members—ICT Minister Mostafa Faruk Mohammad, KM Khalid, Waresat Hossain Belal, Israfil Alam, Fazilatunnesa Indira and Syeda Asifa Ashrafi Papiya attended the meeting.
