President of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) ASM Abdur Rob on Monday called upon the people to build resistance against the autocratic activities of the government.
“The government is turning the state undemocratic one by utilizing its institutions for gaining political interest. It will take a dangerous and severe form in future. Thus, it becomes urgent to build resistance against the autocratic and undemocratic activities of the government,” he said while addressing a discussion meeting at party’s central office to mark the anti-fascism democratic day.Rob alleged that the Awami League had started destroying the sprit of war of liberation by assuming office after the independence of the country and the process is still in progress.
“The AL has to take the responsibility of destroying the spirit of the war o liberation. It is proved that the AL does not belong the ideology of the war of liberation,” he said.
JSD general secretary Abdul Malek Raton said the AL has presented the people misrule and plundering and killed the democracy by establishing the BAKSAL (one-party government) when the countrymen wanted democracy, rule of law and economic emancipation. “They (AL) could not come out from that trend. That’s why the people don’t want partisan rule in the country,” he added.
The JSD leader further said the AL supported could not win in 10 per cent upazila parishads if they did not capture those forcibly.
Party leaders—MA Gofran, Md Siraj Miah, Abdul Khaleque, Abdur Razzak Raja, Jahangir Alam and Makbul Hossain, among others, also addressed the function. – Staff Reporter
