Chittagong, Nov 19– Detectives arrested a leader of Jamaat-e-Islami from his residence at Chawkbazar in the city on Sunday evening on charge of planning acts of sabotage. The arrestee was identified as Afsar Uddin, nayeb-e-Ameer of Chattogram city unit of Jamaat and editor of ‘Dainik Karnaphuli’.
A team of plainclothes police raided his residence around 7pm and arrested him, said Jahangir Alam, senior assistant commissioner (South) of Detective Branch of Chattogram Police. – UNB
