A sedition case has been filed against BNP Vice Chairman Sadeque Hossain Khoka and Nagorik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna. The case was filed this evening with Gulshan Police Station, police sources said.
Manna was arrested following the leakage of his reported telephone conversation with Khoka, now in the USA.Mahmudur Rahman Manna, a former leader of the Awami League had been campaigning for doalogue between the AL-led government and the opposition Bnp for a negotiated settlement of the political impasse. He had also said that Dhaka City Corporation elections would not be allowed to go unchallenged.
He was arrested following publication of his reported telephone conversations with the unknown person and Dhaka’s ex-mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka in a section of the media. – News Desk
