Mahmudur’s appeal against graft trial rejected

The High Court on Monday rejected Amar Desh acting editor Mahmudur Rahman’s
petition for quashing a corruption case proceedings.An HC bench comprising Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justices Mostafa
Zaman Islam vacated its stay order and rejected the petition.
On September 28, 2010, The High Court stayed the trial proceedings of the
case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission on June 13, 2010 for not
submitting his wealth statement.
ACC lawyer Advocate Khurshid Alam Khan said, “There is no legal bar now to
resume the trial proceedings against Mahmudur at the trial court.”
On this April 11, Detective Branch (DB) police arrested him from his
Karwanbazar office in a case filed for publishing a Skype conversation of
