Mobile court sentences C’nawabganj pharmacy owner

A mobile court here last night sentenced a pharmacy owner to six months’ imprisonment and also fined him Taka 50,000 for keeping date expired medicines.The convicted person was identified as Golam Nabi, 50, owner of ‘Nabin Pharmacy’ and son of late Helal Uddin of Sharatnagar village under Shibganj upazila of the district.The mobile court, led by executive magistrate Afaz Uddin, found the date expired medicines during a routine drive at Kansat market of the upazila and handed down the punishment.Chapainawabganj district drug super Shikdar Quamrul Islam said huge amount of date expired medicine was found in his pharmacy during the drive so that the mobile court punished him under the Drug Act of 1940.
