Moyeen Khan terms govt failure

DHAKA: Opposition BNP standing committee member Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan on Wednesday categorically said the government failed in every sector in last four and half years.The senior leader of the party also alleged that the government looted Tk 85,000 crore from the country’s stock markets during the time.
He came up with the allegation while addressing a rally held at Suhrawardy Udyan in the city in the afternoon.
Abdul Moyeen Khan said, “Destiny, Hall-Mark, Bismillah Group and Padma Bridge are the examples of government failure.”
Dr Moyeen also alleged that the incumbent government wants to hold power till 2021 suppressing opposition.
He added: “But the countrymen have raised voice against government and the evil dream of the government to assume power would never be true.”
Regarding caretaker government (CG) system, the opposition senior leader said, “The government has cancelled CG system to stay in power for longer. But BNP will restore the multi-party democracy after assuming power next.”
With Dhaka city BNP convener Sadek Hossain Khoka in the chair, the rally was attended, among others, by party’s acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed and Barrister Jamir Uddin Sircar.
