No disruption in UAE visa to BD workers: Shahriar

Dhaka – State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam on Sunday said the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has not stopped issuing visa to Bangladeshis mentioning that some 1716 Bangladeshi workers went to Dubai in January.
“I had discussions with Dubai (UAE) Ambassador twice last week…Dubai has not stopped issuing visa, and in January, 1716 Bangladeshis workers went to Dubai. It’s on record,” he told reporters at the Foreign Ministry. The State Minister also said a similar number of Bangladeshi workers are scheduled to go to Dubai this month.
Shahriar said it is not true that the UAE has stopped issuing visa for Bangladeshi on the grounds that Bangladesh did not vote for the UAE in selecting the host for the World Expo 2020. “Bangladesh voted for Dubai (UAE) in the second and third round voting. UAE government is aware of it.” – UNB
