No foreign interference in internal affairs to be tolerated: Quader

Bogra – Noting that anyone can meet the President, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Friday said no foreigner has the right to interfere in the country’s internal affairs.
“Anyone -– local or foreign — can meet the President but they have no right to interfere in the country’s internal politics,” he said while addressing a workers’ meeting of district Awami League at Altafunnessa playground in the district town.
Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said the search committee formed by President Abdul Hamid for constituting the Election Commission is neutral, alleging that BNP is unnecessarily trying to make it controversial.
Mentioning that they believe that people are the main source of power, he said, “But BNP has now turned into a party dependent on foreigners. They think the foreigners will take them to power.”
The Awami League leader claimed that BNP did nothing for the development of Bogra although it considers the district its stronghold. “They only cheated the residents of Bogra,” he said.
Presided over by district AL president Mamtaj Uddin, the programme was addressed, among others, by AL joint general secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak, State Minister for Textiles and Jute Mirza Azam and district AL general secretary Mujibur Rahman Majnu. -UNB
