A Divisional Speedy Trial Tribunal in a verdict here on Sunday awarded a person with death sentence on charges of killing a man in Habigonj district under Sylhet division in 2013.The Judge of Chittagong Divisional Speedy Trial Tribunal Mohitul Islam Enam Chowdhury pronounced the verdict convicting Radhashyam Horijon, 55, hailed from Habigonj district under Sylhet division.The court also awarded him with life term imprisonment and fined TK 10,000 for injuring the victim’s brother.The prosecution story in short is that the convicted person chopped Ashok Kumar Horijon, 60, to death and injured his brother Nondolal Horijon over previous enmity on July 27, 2013.Elder brother of the victim Bijoy Horijon filed a case on the same day on charges of the killing his brother.
A total of 18 prosecution witnesses out of 22 were examined in the trial process of the case. BSS, Chittagong
