Photojournalist Farhad passes away

Dhaka, Feb 15 – Senior photojournalist Farhad Hossain died on Friday after a prolonged illness since 2011. He was 71.
He left behind his wife Asia Begum, only son Ashik Mohammad, a host of relatives, friends, colleagues and well wishers to mourn his dead. Ashik Mohammad is a photo journalist working with the Daily Observer.
Farhad Hossain started his career as a photo journalist with the Daily Sangbad in 1972, just after the independence of Bangladesh. Subsequently, he worked with many other daily newspapers including Daily Barta (1976), Daily Janata (1984), Daily Desh ((1986), Daily News Day (1991), Daily Rupali (1993), Daily Times (1997) and the New Nation (1998).
He suffered a massive stroke on June 26 in 2011, while on duty at his workplace, the New Nation. Since then he remained paralysed and had been bed-ridden for more than seven years. – News Desk
