Politics getting venomous, says minister

Like river and air pollution, the speeches of some political leaders are making the environment highly venomous, said Communications Minister Obaidul Quader on Friday. He made the remarks while addressing a programme of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department of Islamic University of Technology.
“The country now has got a bumper production of political leaders as it occasionally sees bountiful production of crops,” Quader quipped.
About corruption, he said if one wants to keep a ministry free from corruption the minister concerned will have to rise above graft.
Observing that the student politics has deviated from its ideology, he said, “These days, student and teacher politics have got entangled. Both are using each other for their gains, thus killing our future.”
The minister also observed that teachers can support a party but they should not involve in factionalism. (Source: UNB)
