Two murdered in city

Two people, including a private university student, were murdered inside a flat in the city’s West Shewrapara area on Friday.The deceased were identified as Abul Bashar, 32, a private company employee, and Rajib, 22, a BBA student of Green University.
On information, a team of Sher-e-Banglanagar Police Station recovered the bodies from the 2nd floor of a four-storey building at 552 Shamim Sarani in the area around 2:45 pm.
Contacted, Inspector Maruf Ahmed (Investigation) of the police station said the deceased had been living along with five others at the rented flat.
He said the building owner found the catch of the main door fastened from the outside when he returned the building after saying Juma prayers.
Being curious, he untied the catch and entered the flat only to see Bashar and Rajib lying dead on two beds in separate rooms, Maruf said.
Later, the building owner informed police who rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies, he said.
Replying to a question, the police official said the victims might have been strangulated to death, adding that there were marks of injuries on their bodies.
