A Dhaka court on Sunday issued show cause against Investigation Officer (IO) of two cases filed in connection with the collapse of Savar’s Rana Plaza building.Dhaka’s Senior Judicial Magistrate Kazi Shahidul Islam issued the show cause notice against Criminal Investigation Department (CID) ASP Bijoy Krishna Kar and also the IO of the cases for his failure to submit probe report in time. The court directed him to give his explanation by December 24. The court also fixed the same date as the date for hearing in cases.
Of the 22 accused eight including the building owner Sohel Rana’s father Abdul Khaleque alias Kulu Khaleque and engineer Intemam, secured bails from the High Court. Other 14 accused are in jail custody.
The 22 accused including were present in the courtroom. Sohel Rana and 13 others were brought to the court from the jail.
On April 24, above 1,130 people, mostly women workers were killed in the collapse and many more were injured in the incident.
Two cases were filed against the accused including Rana in connection with the incident. – Court Correspondent
