Dhaka, April 11 – The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) of Dhaka Wednesday deferred the submission of the investigation report in a defamation case filed against BNP Chief Begum Khaleda Zia and Standing Committee member of the party, Goyeshwar Chandra Roy to May 14.Magistrate Abu Sayed of the CMM Court passed order on Wednesday. The Investigation Officer of the case could not submit the report on Wednesday and he to time for 27 th time till yesterday.
Bangladesh Jananetri Parishad president AB Siddiqui filed the case on January 5, 2016,accusing the two leaders of defamation.The case docket says, on December 21,2015, Khaleda Zia allegedly made defamatory comments against martyrs at a meeting arranged at the Engineers Instittion Bangladesh of Dhaka city.
On the other hand, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy made similar comments about the martyred intellectuals at a discussion meeting arranged at the Jatiya Press Club of the capital on December 25 of the same year. – Special Correspondent
