Dhaka – The written test for admitting students to the Ist semester of various courses under four faculties for the 2017-18 academic session of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU), Dhaka was recently held peacefully amid tight security.More than 38 thousand candidates took part in the test against 682 seats. Fifty-six candidates vied for one seat. Like the previous year, nearly 60 percent were female candidates. The test was held in 16 centres including the SAU campus.
The SAU administration had taken up various measures including use of metal detectors and archways to dissuade students from adopting any unfair means in the admission test. The candidates were not allowed to take cell phones, electronic calculators in the exam hall.
Even the invigilators were asked not to carry their cell phones in the exam halls. Mobile Court headed by a Magistrate was there to take instant action in case of apprehension of any sort of malpractice. Members of the law enforcing agencies were on petrol during the examination period. In a nutshell, the admission test was clean and fair which set an example in the educational arena.
Meanwhile, credit for holding the test peacefully goes to SAU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Kamal Uddin Ahamed, Pro-VC Prof. Dr Md. Sikander Ali, Treasurer Prof. Dr Md. Anwarul Haque Beg and to all the teachers, officers, staff, students, rover scouts of SAU.
