DHAKA: Additional Secretary of Foreign Ministry M Shahidul Haque was made Acting Secretary of the ministry.Shahidul Haque took over the charge of the ministry from Mostafa Kamal, additional secretary of the ministry.
On January 2, he was given charge of Acting Foreign Secretary following appointment of former Foreign Secretary Mijarul Quayes as the Bangladesh Ambassador to the United Kingdom (UK).
Shahidul Haque returned to the ministry as a Director General in August last year after spending 11 years on lien leave. He was later made the Additional Secretary.
During the leave since 2001, Haque worked at the International Organization for Migration.
A graduate in Social Science from the Dhaka University, he got a Masters degree in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
