Sherpur man succumbs to clash injuries

Dhaka – A man, who suffered injuries during a clash between two groups of villagers at Halgara village in Sadar upazila on Thursday, died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital on Friday afternoon.The deceased was identified as Abdus Sattar, 40, a resident of Halgara village.Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Nazrul Islam said Maju Miah and Abdur Rafique of the village had long been at loggerheads over the ownership of a piece of land.On Thursday afternoon, two groups — one led by Maju and the other by Rafique –locked into a clash over the issue.Sattar received serious injuries during the clash. Later, he was taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 3pm today.Victim’s brother Abdul Quader filed a case with the Sadar Police Station in this connection, the OC added.UNB agency
