Dhaka – A woman and her younger daughter were injured in an attack allegedly by a stalker and his accomplices at Kandarpara village in Sadar upazila on Monday night.Nurunnhar Begum, mother of the two girls, said she filed a complaint with Bagerhat Model Police Station against Rabiul Islam of the village as he had been harassing her elder daughter Asma Khatun on her way to and from college. UNB agencyPolice arrested Rabiul but later he was released as Nurunnahar withdrew the allegation after the youth gave a bond that he would not harass her daughter any more.On Monday night, Rabiul along with his associates intercepted Nurunnhar and her younger daughter near their house when they went out for fetching drinking water from a deep tube-well and vented his anger over the filing of the complaint against him.At one stage, Rabiul and others beat Nurunnahar and her daughter, leaving them injured.They were given first aid at Sadar Hospital.Officer-in-charge of Bagerhat Model Police Station M Mizanur Rahman Khan said Nurunnahar filed a case against eight people, including Rabiul, on Tuesday evening over the incident.
