Stand against BNP-Jamaat: Hasina

Hitting out at the opposition for its threat to unleash violence across the country like Fatikchhari incident, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday called upon the country’s people to stand against the terrorist activities by ‘BNP-Jamaat’.“You’ve seen how they (BNP-Jamaat) killed people by attacking a peaceful procession in Fatikchhari. They’re again threatening to resort to such type of violence across the country. Killing people is BNP-Jamaat’s nature,” she told a rally at historic Town Hall Maidan.
“The country’s people don’t want to see those killers and terrorists in power……all will resist those who indulge in such terrorist activities and get united for maintaining peace and ensuring security in the country,” she added.
Mentioning that the BNP-Jamaat alliance has been killing people and carrying out repressive acts against them since 2001, Hasina said the opposition is torturing people when the country is moving ahead.
She held leader of the opposition Khaleda Zia responsible for the killing ruling party men, law enforcers and transport workers saying,” I want to say the opposition leader that do you think you’ll be spared for the killing of people, drivers, rickshaw-pullers, police, Chhatra League and Jubo League men. You won’t be spared. The BNP chief and Jamaat will have to shoulder the responsibility for those killings.”
About war crime trial, the Prime Minister said the way the trial of the killers of the Father of the Nation was held overcoming various obstacles by BNP, the same way the ongoing trial of war criminals will be held on Bangladesh’s soil.
Accusing the BNP chief of killing people and carrying out terrorist activities across the country to save the war criminals, Hasina urged Khaleda to refrain from such destructive acts.
