Stay alert to prevent militancy, IGP asks cops

Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Hoque on Friday asked his subordinates to remain watchful to prevent militant activities and the killing in the country.

He gave the order while addressing the special welfare meeting at the District Police Lines at noon. Manikganj, UNB News Agency Reported.

Declaring a ‘zero tolerance’ policy against drugs, the IGP asked all police members to work sincerely in this regard.

He also lamented that the involvement of a section of policemen in using drugs and drug trade is hurting the image of the force. “All the achievements of police are being destroyed for this section of policemen,” he said.

DIG (Dhaka Range) SM Mahfuzul Haque Nuruzzaman and additional police super Zakir Hasan also spoke at the programme with police super of the district Mahfuzur Rahman in the chair.

Earlier, Shahidul Hoque inaugurated the newly constructed barrack of women police.
